Monika Christ - Ricken

I was born on the 23^rd of October 1952 in Saarbrücken.
For several years I was a teacher at secondary schools. In 1993 I moved to Italy where I'am  living on a small farm near Pitigliano.  My water-colours were mainly inspired by the hilly landscape of Tuscany, but there are also many abstract paintings. Since 1997 I  also paint "Vinorelle" - inspired by an artist friend from the Mosel river - , where colours are mixed with wine instead of water.
At Easter 1998 I had my first exhibition in Pitigliano, followed by a participation at the Petilia festival. I won prizes at several summer competitions and at the national competition for painting and graphic arts in Salsomaggiore my water-colour landscape was rewarded with the Cristoforo Marzaroli medal.
